Clays & Wingshooting Instruction Beginning to advanced, private sessions with hourly rates of $70 to $120 plus target fees (members receive a 15% discount). Your best choice to improve your performance. Includes eye diagnostics, gun fit check, target reading, and game plan management. Advance appointment required. Joint sessions for multiple students are available.
Coaching on the Course Excellent for the beginner, novice and intermediate shooter, the shooter is accompanied around the course by an instructor and coached on the best ways to approach the different targets as set that particular week. Normal range fees are charged the shooter(s), with an additional charge of $70 to $120 an hour for the individual or group.
Try It Out Package For the beginner or novice shooter/hunter. Apporximately 45 minutes with one of our instructors covering range safety, the history of sporting clyas and shooting the three basic sporting clays presentations. Tuition is $45 for one person, $40 per person for two to four people. Includes targets, cartridges, ear protection and use of gun if necessary. Does not include eye protection. Advanced appointment required. (No member discount is available on this package)
N.C. Concealed Carry Training Course The North Carolina Concealed Carry Course is offered by North Carolina certified law enforcement firearms instructors that are also certified to teach this course. Combined, the two instructors have over fifty years of experience in the field with extensive experience in carrying concealed handguns. You will be exposed to when you can and cannot use deadly force, where and when you can and cannot carry a concealed handgun, along with exposure to a variety of handguns, carry systems, shooting styles, safety, etc. The course is offered on the second Sunday of each month and runs the entire day. Tuition is $70 and advanced reservations are required. You will need to bring a picture ID, handgun, holster with belt, 40 rounds of ammunition, eye and ear protection and your lunch. Pistol Marksmanship Course Five phase course covering beginning pistol safe handling, self defense issues, and serious marksmanship training available by appointment. Tuition: $70 per phase.

Gun Fitting

The proper fit of the shotgun to the shooter may be the single most important aspect of successful shooting. Gun fit involves altering the gun stock to bring the shotgunner’s master eye to the proper location over the gun barrel when the shotgun is shouldered. Specifically, it deals with five measurements: length of pull, drop at the comb, drop at the heel, cast off or on, and pitch. These measurements are inter- twined. Altering any one will require an alteration of the others.
The importance of a properly fitted gun is most apparent in sports where the gun is actually mounted during the delivery of the shot, such as bird hunting and Sporting Clays. Even so, it is still a help in "gun-up" disciplines such as Trap and Skeet where you have time to adjust yourself to the gun before calling pull. In every case, a properly fitted gun will improve your consistency because it makes it easier to bring the gun up to a position where it will shoot where you look.
